What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a collaborative model between a producer and the community that shifts how people buy local goods. When you subscribe to a CSA, you are essentially purchasing a "share" of the season’s harvest in advance.
Instead of buying items one by one at a market, members provide the upfront capital needed for seeds, supplies, and labor. In exchange, the producer provides a regular "payout" of fresh products throughout the growing season.
-
Subscribing to a CSA is different from a standard retail transaction. Here is the typical breakdown:
The Membership: You pay for a membership (or "subscription") before the season begins. This helps cover the initial costs of the farm or garden.
The Guild/Share: Depending on the setup, you might choose between different sizes or tiers. For a flower-focused CSA, this often ranges from small, curated bundles to large, full arrangements.
Scheduled Distribution: Once the season starts, members receive their shares on a set schedule—(for our Guild members its weekly!)
The Seasonal Cycle: Because it is tied to the land, the variety of what you receive changes with the weather. You might get sunflowers and cosmos in the peak of heat, followed by asters or celosia as the season progresses.

Item descriptWhat It Means to Be a Member
When you subscribe, you aren't just a customer; you become a vital part of the local ecosystem.
Guaranteed Freshness: Since the items are harvested specifically for members, they are often gathered just hours before they reach you, ensuring much higher quality than store-bought options.
Shared Risk and Reward: Members support the grower through the natural ups and downs of a season. When there is a "bumper crop," members often enjoy the extra abundance.
Community Connection: CSAs often foster a sense of belonging. Members get a "behind-the-scenes" look at how things are grown and become part of a local "guild" or group that values sustainable, local production.ion

Memberships are flexible and can be canceled at any time However since our CSA funds are used to pre-purchase seeds and supplies for the specific number of members we have, all sales are final. Think of it as a 'share' of the garden; once the seeds are in the dirt, the investment is committed to the season!
